Module Two, Reducing Stress
Welcome back!
I hope you have had time to ingest the materials, watch the videos and practice your meditations from Module One. The breathing meditation has served me well for many years.
Here in Module Two, we’re going to do lots of exercises for stress reduction. You’ll also learn what stress does to your body and, of course, your brain. You’ll learn how important it is not just for the present, but for the future, to get stress under control.
You’ll also learn several unique, fun and easy ways to help alleviate stress so that you can protect your health and your memories for years to come.
But before we get started on that, and as a follow up to Module One and our initial discussions about mindfulness, I thought you would enjoy this interesting article about the power of mindfulness meditation to reduce stress. From the article: “Psychological scientists have found that mindfulness influences two different stress pathways in the brain, changing brain structures and activity in regions associated with attention and emotion regulation. Scientists are also beginning to understand which elements of mindfulness are responsible for its beneficial effects.”
We’ll be doing many more mindfulness exercises throughout this program, so you will be sure to get the benefits not just for stress reduction but also for learning and memory, which we’ll be talking about in Module Three.
Okay – Here we go!
