Module One, Lesson Five:
The Positive Mind
It’s not possible to overstate the importance of a positive attitude, especially when it comes to aging! Enjoy this article on the benefits of positive thinking for your brain. Aging Positively.pdf
The Challenge: Here is the Seven Day Mental Diet created by Emmet Fox. Fox was an Irish New Thought spiritual leader of the early 20th century, primarily through the years of the Great Depression until his death in 1951. I can only imagine how much he helped people get through those difficult years. This has not been edited for his language, so it might seem a little “old fashioned”, but it is a powerful call to better your mind by bettering your thoughts! Seven Day Mental Diet Emmett Fox.pdf And now, the challenge. Do you think you can go one week without letting negative thoughts rest in your mind? I have to be very honest, it is difficult. As of September 2020, I have not been able to make it more than 3 days without having to start over. But that’s okay! Just the INTENTION of being more positive has made a huge impact on my attitude toward things that would normally have bothered me. After you’ve read Fox’s explanation, if you decide to embark on the commitment to TRY the Seven Day Mental Diet, do yourself a favor and sign the commitment letter. Mental Diet Commitment.pdf It is like setting a goal in writing. Remember, though, that this is not a contest, and this is not a reason to be hard on yourself.
The reason I included in this program is because I am hoping that you will take this opportunity to be AWARE and MINDFUL of those things that you find festering in your brain, causing you to stress or be unhappy. Our thoughts ARE our reality, so if we consciously try to make them more positive, our reality will be more positive.
And a happy brain is a healthy brain.
Enjoy!
See you in Module Two.
