The Vegan Brain, 2nd Edition

Your Quick Start Guide to a Thriving Plant-Based Lifestyle

Book Four in the Healthy Brain Series

86 Billion Reasons to Go Vegan

Everything we do depends on the health of our brains, so if the 86 billion neurons housed in them aren’t healthy, then life is going to be hard.

By nurturing them with a whole foods, vegan diet, it’s much easier to have healthy relationships, successful careers, and a happier life.  Besides those neurons, our mental, emotional and spiritual selves are housed in those three pounds or so of fat, water, and grey and white matter.

As powerful and wondrous as our brains are, though, they are completely dependent on the choices we make every day with respect to the food we eat and the company we keep.  That’s why it is essential to feed the brain whole, live foods prepared with compassion and love. In return, it will be healthier and will reward you with clearer thinking, better memories, and a more meaningful life.

In this book, you’ll learn the basics of that powerful whole-foods vegan lifestyle and how to ensure you have the essential nutrients important for good all-around health. Perhaps even more importantly, you will see how your choices can reduce suffering for countless animals and help to create a kinder, more compassionate and sustainable world.

To help you make the best choices to nurture a healthier body and brain, Certified Amen Brain Health Professional and Vegan Nutritionist, Kate Kunkel, has enhanced this powerful guide with the infamous Meal Plan Jumble. Kate created this tool to mix and match meals from the dozens of delicious recipes that make it fun and easy to stick with this compassionate, healthy lifestyle.

In this compilation 2nd Edition of The Vegan Brain, you’ll have all of the information in the original Vegan Brain short read along with all of the nutrition information initially shared in The Plant Lovers’ Fast-Start Gide, which is Book 2 of the Healthy Brain Series.

You’ll learn exactly what nutrients are essential and how to obtain them from plant foods and see how these nutrients help reduce inflammation, hormone imbalances, and other risk factors in the body that can contribute to cognitive decline, memory loss, and brain fog.

You’ll also have at your fingertips a comprehensive inventory of foods to avoid, including much of what we have traditionally been told is healthy. Hint: canola oil is not health food.

First Edition

The Compassionate Path to Better Health and a Happier Life

The first in the Healthy Brain Series by Kate Kunkel

Without a healthy brain, it is nearly impossible to make good decisions, adapt to change, or have a successful relationship or career.

Our mental, emotional and spiritual selves are also housed in these three pounds or so of fat, water, and grey and white matter. Countless neurons and dendrites control every aspect of our lives and our health and make us who we are.
But this wondrous master controller is also completely dependent on the choices we make every day with respect to the food we eat and the company we keep.

Thus it is essential to feed the brain whole, live foods prepared with compassion and love. In return, it will be healthier and will reward you with clearer thinking, better memories, and a more meaningful life.

In this book, you’ll learn the basics of the whole-foods vegan lifestyle and how to ensure you have the essential nutrients important for good all-around health. Be prepared to go all-in; this is not a gentle discussion of the pros and cons of being vegan. This book is for those who are ready to make the commitment – to make the choices every day to make your brain all that it can be while reducing suffering for countless fellow creatures.

Not only will you be nurturing and enhancing your own brain, protecting it against the horrors of dementia, you will be helping to create a kinder, more compassionate world.

It is a rare person who does not have “fuzzy” brain days. It is disconcerting and sometimes embarrassing. This new book offers a smörgåsbord of simple vegan ways to make our brains stay healthy by putting the right food into our bodies and excluding the unhealthy ‘habit food’ that many people ingest. It is a nicely-told story of the author’s journey to specialist knowledge and practice of brain health, including memory, and practical ways for her readers to find their own paths to better brain functions through diet improvements.

I found this short book a pleasure to read. Kate Kunkel provides easily understandable explanations of the whys and hows of embracing a whole foods vegan lifestyle. She also provides a link to more detailed information she has made available in a previous book, and a link to some free recipes to help one get started. It is obvious to me that she is very passionate about her own lifestyle choices, and that makes it easier when considering one’s own situation and choices. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is concerned about their current and/or future health.

I’m so impressed with this Author’s ability to write a short read about brain health and a whole plant-based diet (Vegan). I have tried “going vegan” for years but honestly, with so much mixed info, long books, too many websites etc, I just gave up. However, as I age I want more and more to feel better and make sure my brain health is steady. The Vegan Brain is genius, easy to consume (pun intended) quickly and makes a whole lot of sense. It also provides exercises for you to really understand your own motivation about why it’s important for you to honor the calling to be Vegan – or better yet – just to try it for a month and see! I feel so much better and I look forward to the continued good health!
